This picture was in the same article that contained the picture labeled as the unidentified farm. The picture is unique among old pictures of the dam and water works on the Aroostook River in Caribou. Most old postcards of the dam show a landscape that is bald. That is, there are no trees anywhere as all the land was cleared for the potato boom. This picture must be from before the early postcards. The dam was built in 1889 and most postcards in my collection are from the early 1900s. The picture then must be in the early 1890s and gives a unique perspective on the landscape before the big farms.
